Seoul, South Korea’s Pride – Lotte World, A Theme Park
Seoul has its own theme park to boast – the Lotte World. The park opened to the public over a decade ago, in 1989. This is a recreation complex situated in downtown Seoul, the capital of South Korea. It consists of indoor and outdoor theme parks.
The Indoor Adventure is the largest indoor park in the whole world. The outdoor park is called Magic Island. Aside from these two theme parks, there is a luxury hotel, department store, movie theater, sport facilities and Korean museum inside.
Indoor Adventure displays a variety of seasonal festivals and parades. You can witness here the Masquerade Festival, Rio Samba Carnival, Christmas and Halloween festivals. The Little World Village of this indoor theme park features 22 different rides such as carousel, monorail and more. A connecting passage way bridges the indoor and outdoor parks.
The outdoor Magic Island offers thrilling adventures. This is actually an artificial island set-up in the middle of the Seockhon Lake. The design is European in style. There is a spell-binding Magic Castle in the midst of the island. There are rides in this outdoor park – 17 kinds which include the thrill ride where you can enjoy free fall from high altitude.
Another thing to enjoy is the daily parade which runs from 2:30 PM to 7 PM. Different parade themes jibe with the different seasons and holidays. There is also a Folk Museum which is accessed through the third floor of the Indoor Adventure. This museum exhibits most of Korean culture and history. You can even book your hotel at the Lotte Hotel World. Have the pleasure of buying souvenir items to take back home – from the Lotte Department Store and Lotte Duty Free Shop.
